The Smugglers Path

A wonderful walk in Marvão following in the footsteps of the local Portuguese coffee smugglers. This two and a half hour trek takes you through some of the most beautiful Alentejo countryside, meander through cork oak and chestnut trees, stroll along medieval paths, pass gigantic granite stones and take in the special fauna and flora of this region. You might see a Bonelli Eagle here, one of the rarest birds in Portugal.
This is a walk to be repeated many times in the future.
Happy rambling!
